Where Has The Time Gone?

Wow, how the time has flown by! We have been busy all summer learning, seeing and doing anything to do with the marvelous butterfly.

With all of this new knowledge we have decided that next year we will dedicate to raising Monarch butterflies. We will raise them for releases, population and for the sure beauty that they bring us. It will also mean that we will be growing a lot of plants to keep these Monarchs happy. Below is a list of host and nectar plants we will be growing for next spring.

MILKWEED
Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa)
Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca)
Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)

GENERAL NECTAR PLANTS
Indian Blanket (Gaillardia pulchella)
Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea)
Joe Pye Weed (Eupatorium purpureum)
Scarlet Sage (Salvia coccinea)
Tithonia Torch, Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia)
Zinnia, Dahlia Mix (Zinnia elegans)

If everything goes as planned we will have the above plants available next spring if you would like some.
